Just keeping you folks updated on the anti`s in our great state of New York out of committee A.703 proposed lead ban on public lands. Could be voted on any time. Real bummer but it`s coming. If your from this state contact your legislatures.

Hmmm , I know I have seen some private lands that don't allow lead, I've seen a ray eye video where he was using steel #2

Don't they also limit the shot size to no smaller then 7s

If they rule out lead you might want to make it legal to use 8 and 9 tss

I grew up in the mountains of Virginia and I cannot believe what has happened there in the last year with the new Liberal Democrat Governor.  We hunters and firearms owners really need to get involved, vote and understand what is going on in our states.  If we allow these states to take our RIGHTS away, we may never be able to get them back.  Once a precedent has been established, we will have to fight even harder to overturn them.  STAND UP and DON"T GIVE UP!!!

Good old New York. Wonderful state except for New York City and maybe Buffalo.

Buffalo is better than you might think, I worry much more about NYC, Schenectady and Albany than I ever will Buffalo.

WTF!! I knew this was coming... They've been putting a page about the dangers of lead ammunition in our hunting rules and regulations for the past couple years. Basically theyve been trying to scare people into believing they are ingesting lead, showing xrays of deer that have been shot with what looks like a varmint bullet with the amount of lead that's in the states photo.Same thing at the little booth the DEC has at our local county fair last couple years. What a crock of ! Does the DEC have a pair or are they stuck in Andy panders purse too? One step behind California.... :TrainWreck1:

I imagine the biggest political push behind this lead ban isn't anti-hunters (although they're all in), but anti-2A totalitarians. Most ammunition is constructed with a lead projectile(s). And although lead-free offerings have taken off during the last decade, they're all significantly more expensive than their lead containing counterparts. More expensive translates to less available, and that plays right into the hands of the gun grabbing crowd. Not as satisfying as an outright confiscation, but they'll gladly chip-chip-chip away in the meantime.

Yes, we can use #8s here in NYS and yes we all need to get involved like bbcoach said. In the last Governor election here in NYS, only 1 out of 4  gun owners voted. That, in my opinion, is flat out pathic. Especially knowing strict gun laws were coming down the pike. In other words, 3 gun owners stabbed 1 gun owner in the "back".IMO. I posted on this forum a few weeks back about Virginia 2A rally that was coming, letting members know they needed support. The response was meager. Only 1 member said they where going. I went from Buffalo to support them and I'm proud I did. You see I've been on three other bus rides to pro-gun rallies in Albany, NY and I know what my fellow brother and sisters are up against. I told them this, "If your on a bus heading to a rally, It's too late" you voted the wrong people in. It's not about the NRA and guns. It's about your "natural" God given right to defend your family and yourself. It's also your right to choose how....I will not comply.

Like I tell everyone. Don't whine and complain if you don't vote. Even if you believe your party will win or lose by a landslide stop whatever your doing and vote. If you think your too busy go the absentee ballot route.
I think also if we're going to win it's nice for the other side to see we did it by a landslide. Once our way of believing and doing is taken away good luck getting it back.
It's scary seeing the road some people are wanting to carry us down and even scarier knowing we have so many lambs that are so willing to be led to slaughter.
