Another good reason to use Permethrin.
New tick-borne illness is deadlier than Lyme disease
Armand Desormeaux, of Hampton, NJ, was an active 80-year-old—until he developed a fever in early May 2019. Then he began to experience tremors and was unable to verbalize. Desormeaux died in the hospital 10 days later. What caused such a tragic condition in an otherwise healthy man? It was an uncommon virus from the bite of a tiny tick, the New Jersey Department of Health confirmed.

Yup! I always give all my woods apparel a real good spraying.

Yup ticks are no joke. In my neck of the woods sawyers permethrin is an absolute must.

I got a tick 3 years back. Didn't find it and didn't catch it in time. My body stopped producing some antibody I needed. Long story short I ended up 120 miles from home in the U of Penn ER via rotary ring due to massive swelling of the brain. They initially thought I had a stroke(30 at the time) and they tested me daily for different stuff. Turned out it was from something ticks carry.

I hate needles. Had infusions daily after that for 6 months. I know now treat all my clothes with permethrin, not just hunting clothes.

Yes I think I will start treating my clothes that I wear when I go trail walking too.

Yep, I treat my wife's & my clothes that we wear hiking. I also treat our cloth suitcases when we stay at a hotel to help stop any crawly critters....don't need to bring any of them home.

Man I hate ticks. I found a tiny seed/deer tick on me the day before yesterday. Idk how long it was on me, but I've got a good bump thats pretty red and angry. I guess ill go to the Dr. If it gets worse.

Turkeytider

Without question, THE most dangerous thing in the woods.

If I went to the doctors office every time I got bit by a tick I wouldn't have much free time. And they all leave a welt. That being said I would certainly apply Permethin to all outdoor clothing. I haven't went turkey hunting without it in many years. It keeps chiggers off as well.

It's everyones own call. I respect that. Being in the health care profession and dealing with this stuff I see way to many people that wait too long. Just trying to be helpful.
