I agree Wendell!  My family will not be shoping at Sears any longer.  It is time that people need to take a stand for what they believe. :jesus-cross:

Its one thing to not do it, its another altogether to not do it and tell them why so they know what is causing the loss in sales

The problem comes when people try to force their beliefs on others. It starts down a dangerous path.  Boycotts and other silliness seems innocent enough until it gets out of control. Look at the antihunting movement.  They think they are doing good and they out number us. Without the freedoms we enjoy certain things we enjoy that others don't be it hunting or a religion can be abolished. It is this type of freedom that many of us have fought and many died to protect. How hard would it be to make a case against a religion where numerous kids have been molested? Not everything is black and white. Unfortunately there are a lot of shades of gray in the real world. Religion and faith is a good thing. Extremism in any form becomes destructive.

What is most destructive is when you don't stand up for your beliefs.  I am not sure how this is relating to the anti-hunting other than the fact that since they do not hunt they will not by turkey calls from Wendall. We have stood by for too long and allowed money and greed to change the fundamentals of our country. I have lost family fighting for freedom as well and I know that they would be standing right beside me when I walk in to Sears and tell them thanks but no thanks as long as you sell porn I won't be shopping here. Maybe it won't break them but it will show my stance and that is my right. Pornography is on of the most destructive forces to marriages there is. So as much as they have a right to sell it I have a right to tell people I won't buy it!! Pornography is one of the reasons children are getting molested daily in our world. A lot more than religion. There are bad people in every walk of life and they will all be judged in the end just as we all will. I for one am going for the good judgement and that means standing against immoral things.

It does apprear to be gone!!! That is awesome it shows that when you stand up for something then it makes people reconsider. Thanks Wendall!!

All else aside.  I stopped doing business with Sears aka Kmart when I called customer service a couple years ago to schedule a service technician to come fix my Kenmore upright freezer.  I ended up speaking with a guy named Tony (yeah right) that could barely speak English.  His real name was most likely Akbar and he was located in either Pakistan or India.  Akabar or Tony wanted to put me on the scheadule 2 weeks down the road.  I eventually found a local English speaking American techinian named Bob (real name too) to fix my freezer that same day.

My issue with Sears aka Kmart is that I will NEVER do business with them again when they have a call center located in a country where the person on the other end of the line can barely speak or understand English.

In their defense, I've never seen adult materials available in a Sears store, and it's clearly not being heavily pushed on their site.  I highly doubt that anyone looking for porn is going to order it from Sears, anyway.   :D

This why I WILL shop at Sears...

Sears guarantees the continuance of pay and benefits for their employees in the National Guard and Reserves while they're deployed!  That, in my book, far outweighs the fact that they're selling NC-17 movies on their website.

Well hell let's just crucify anyone that doesn't agree with our beliefs.......oh yeah they did that already. Amazing how many self righteous people are so much better than everybody else. I think that was addressed also...something about not judging lest you be judged also??? I sure do see a lot of the people that I arrest on Friday and Saturday on the way to church on Sunday.........Me I'll just go back to minding my own business and let the free people of America decide things for themselves.

The line was drawn years ago!! Its now very close to the time for each to make their final choice on which side of the line they plan to stand on till the end!!!The line is very blurry now,let all hope and
pray every human being chooses the right side to stand!!

Once again, sir, you seem to miss the point or read something that is not there.  The intent of the post was to inform, not to condemn.  Most of us here are adults and are capable of making decisions for ouselves.  The link in the initial post was for an "Action Alert".  It was to inform people who might be opposed to such an issue and invite them to voice their disapproval of the situation to the company in question.  I believe that would fall under our right to freedom of speech.  Doing so does not impose upon your right to freely and openly shop with this retailer.   Expressing one's convictions about an issue in no way condemns you or anyone else who does not agree.  It simply acts as a statement of that individual's convictions and allows others to agree or disagree as they choose.  Sometimes giving voice to one's opinion may help strengthen others who are like-minded by helping them understand that there are others who feel the way they do.  Simple as that.
I have seen first hand how pornography, the central issue of the action alert, can destroy a relationship.  I have seen how it can eat away at the foundation of a person's belief system and how before long, a person can begin to justify actions they would have once been appalled by.  I have seen, heard and read how once trust of a spouse has been broken as the result of pornography, it is extremely difficult and sometimes impossible to restore.  I have read the heartfelt outpourings of wives who have been devastated as a result of pornography.  I have seen the trickle down its effects have into the extended family, children and in-laws.
The issue goes way beyond a retail giant allowing "nudie" movies to be sold on their website.  You are completely right in that this material can be found most anywhere you look, or more to the point, anywhere you seek it out.  I make a conscious effort to avoid it anywhere and everywhere I can.  Does that make me self-righteous? Did I condemn anyone else by making such a choice for myself?  Did I infringe on the rights of anyone else?  No sir.  I recognize that I am not immune to the draw of such materials.  I understand the pain and destruction it can lead to.  I simply choose not to allow it to be a part of my life.

We have all heard of how an alcoholic can "fall off the wagon" if he takes just one drink after quitting.  The same goes with a person who chooses to quit smoking or using smokeless tobacco (as this specific issue was raised here within the past week).
Would you question, condemn, berate or degrade a person who had made such a life choice for himself/herself?  Most would cheer them on in support of making such a decision to abstain from such activities.  Does that individual's choice to abstain condemn another who doesn't share their choice?  Would you condemn or degrade an alcoholic who had stopped drinking from avoiding bars?  Most would think that a logical choice if they were serious about not falling back into a habit they have chosen to avoid.
Once again, sir, the intent was not to condemn, simply to inform.

What is so wrong with gays/homos in the military? If they deep down in their heart want to serve their country than thats what they should be able to do.
Im not gay or homo and Im conserative but seriously why discriminate on them if they want to fight for America?

As a veteran myself, I commend their patriotism. I think it's more of a morale issue, and a safety concern for all parties involved.
