Central Alabama Gobbling Report
March 09, 2019, 08:34:53 AM
I live in Shelby County Alabama and hunt in Coosa County Alabama. It seems as of late birds are flocked up in Shelby County and gobbling but in Coosa County it's silent. Anyone have any other news? I know I'm on birds because of strut marks and scratchings but been a few times and haven't heard a peep in Coosa County. Let me know what y'all are seeing around the state. I'm not after your locations just trying to see what it looks like in different counties.
Always wondering wether or not to give a cluck

I hit three places in Barbour county this morning. I have yet to hear a gobble this year. Bimba firm believer it's because the folks who say there are no turkeys in Alabama may be right. At least nine in Barbour county. Oh, and Chambers.
If I'm not back in five minutes, wait longer!

I've only been out once in north AL and didn't hear any birds but it was a cold morning in the 20's. I hope to get out another morning this coming week.

I haven't heard any gobbling in Marengo or Hale county yet but some folks I've spoken to claim that they've been hearing them for a few weeks. I won't be able to do any more listening until the 15th, a day before the regular season opens. Come opening morning and if I'm in the right spot, I'm confident I can make them gobble for me.

I heard two birds gobbling in Chilton and Elmore County yesterday. Not really fired up but still gobbled. Over the youth weekend I heard a few in Pike Co and we were also able to kill on Sunday morning. It's just a matter of time before they get going, I've seen it happen to many years past the same way. Not a lot of gobbling and then bam it's on.
