After completing my world slam of turkey hunting I knew what my next big adventure was going to be. Elk hunting! I had a friend book a guided hunt in the Gila National Forest of New Mexico with Desert Meadow Outfitters. He highly recommended them as he killed a nice 6x6 on his first day hunting. So I contacted Justin the owner and decided what units to put in for the draw. I lucked out and drew a tag. We were on bulls each day we hunted. Justin really did his homework scouting. I was able to harvest a nice 6x6.  340" bull.  If anyone is looking for a guided hunt I highly recommend them.

Not bad at all to be honest, I figured closer to 10,000
