Whats a wood combination thats clean yet has some rasp

I've decided I'm going to go with a spring creek box call I'm looking for a good wood combination I'm looking for a sound that is clean yet has some rasp to it.

I've always liked a yellowheart paddle for a nice clean high front end and a solid bark on the back.

Call and talk to Mike, tell him what sound you are looking for. He makes the boxes, he would know better than anyone what woods work best for what sound.
