Ok guys I'm posting this in general as I know it will open the door for allot more folks to see and share.

Would you run a scope on a 20 gauge or a red dot such as a ff3 or venom?

What scope would you use?

What power of scope would you use?

Please everyone post and share your thoughts and all information.

I prefer a scope. I got a Leopold 1-4×20 with turkey plex reticle and love it.

A red dot would be much lighter.

Gobble!

FF3 on my gun. No desire to switch to a scope.

The good thing about scopes, they help us older people see better and people with poor eye sight ... I myself like a red dot so so......but a scope a lot BETTER....that scope will help you keep up with a gobbler coming in tall grass a lot better than any red dot...but i hunt fields a lot more than woods...That red dot may be a lot better in woods... just my opinion ...

My vote goes to the scope, been shooting one on the turkey gun for better than 20 years without fail! Shooting a Bushnell, but like what I see Leupold has out now. Mine has a Circle-X reticle, I call the "Circle of Death". I have had a bunch of kids use my gun over the years and way easier on them to get on the bird with the scope.

I had a scope on my gun for years and years.....then switched to an FF2 Burris.
Not a chance in the world I'd go back to a scope.

Last year if you played your cards right they were giving away free FF3s with purchase of AR scopes.
I mailed in for my free fastfire and sold the scope for what I paid for it.

I put a ff3 on my gun and the dot was centered on my front bead, so I sold it and have been using my front bead ever since. The only shell I ever shot that was off was the LB's, they shot a little high and to the right. I liked the pattern they had but wouldn't buy another red dot or scope to use them. Just wonder if a more open choke tube would correct this

This is the pros with a ffiii:

1. You can shoot with both eyes open.
2. It's quicker to get on target.
3. You can still see your beads on your barrel, and if something were to go wrong you still could use them.
4. Light weight.
5. Lower profile.
6. You do not have to worry about camber or lean when shooting from an awkward position. (As long as a kid or newbie has the red dot on the neck game over)

Cons:
1. There electronic
2. Magnification is very minimum to none.

Here is the pros I see with a scope:

1. Magnification.

Here is the cons:

1. Most of the time you can never see your beads.
2. Bulkier (more hanging off Gun to get caught on branches and briars.
3. Easier to bang on things.
4. More noticeable when hunting in the open.
5. A chance you can get caught in the eye by recoil.
6. Heavier

After thinking on all these
Things I suppose that's why I have 4 ffiii and Lee the rifle scopes on my rifles. Some day I may go to a rifle scope and honestly I about ordered some Talley mounts and a leupold 1-4x20mm turkey plex. However when I got to thinking I couldn't see my bead and about the added possibility to getting it hung on something I changed my mind and ordered another ffiii.

Keep all of your thoughts and opinions coming, I enjoy reading others thoughts.

I have been using a ff3 the last couple seasons and love it. I received a buckmark 22 for Christmas this year and mounted the fastfire on it. I too have had an itch to try out a scope to see if I like it, if not I can always get another ff3 for it. Decisions!

I have the FF3 never go to scope on turkey gun, have on other guns. The only negitive is change the battery before season if you used a lot year before, just to be sure it wont go dead when needed.
