The Cackler Box is about 12.5" long overall and it does have a spring on the paddle screw.

Those Alabama Cacklers look like a polycarbonate or something similar.  I have one of the wooden Alabama Cacklers from some years back and have been trying to figure a fair price for it.  Does he still make those?
