Made it to New Mexico last week.  I've wanted to go for a few years and finally made it.  I filled my tags but the pics stink.  Anyway my cousin, Keefton, who had only turkey hunted once went with me.  He joined our ranks taking his first solo and doing the trigger work on a second that came to my call.

Congrats to you and the cousin.  Looks like a heck of a beard for Merriam's.

It was.  A little over 8.5" on this one.  Both birds he took were toads.  The other one had close to 1" spurs.  I told him that he was very lucky to take such good birds.
