So, I just had to shoot today.  This is the gun I have for my son and it is ready to hunt.

Remington 870 Compact, 22" barrel, 65 degrees.  All shots with 1 7/16 oz of TSS #9.  The inner circle is an 8" circle from a target at the range, it was all I could find to get a decent idea of the 10" numbers, to see if I wanted to try the Rem SF.

First three were with a Hastings .562

Shot #1 221
Shot #2 207
Shot #3 209

Tighter than I want.  At 20-30 yds this is really going to tighten up.

Trial of the Rem SF .570 is really the ticket

Shot #1 at 40 yds

His max shot will be 30 yds, so this is at 30 yds

What do yo think?  I am very pleased with the 30 yd shot.  I have him aim at the waddles, so this is exactly what I want the pattern to be, just a tick high.

Those look very good to me.   :you_rock:

I think from reading the blurbs under the pics, that the gun is "shooting a tick high" is just fine with him.  Keeps his sons aim at the base of the neck with more visibility rather than putting the bead and the whole barrel for that matter where he wants the pattern and obstruckting his view.  It's called the six o'clock sight picture.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind te most.

Yep, that's right.  I want him to aim at the waddles.  This puts the pattern in the head and neck, not over the head.  Also, as stated, a better and easier sight picture and aiming point.

Ray you put him on a bird and he has time he will be providing turkey dinner!
