My dad has a Winchester 1300 with a 22" barrel... he is wanting to shoot hevi-shot this year....  His choke is a .655 or a .660 non ported hastings... It shoots lead 6's pretty good...  should he shoot the federal HW or should he go with a hevi 13 load?
Can't kill'em from the couch!!!!

Not supposed to shoot HTL through a Hastings.  I have and with no ill effects.

H13 3-2-6 or 3-2-7 are hard to go wrong with in a 3" gun.

I have too. Same gun put 180 in a 10 at 40 yards with a non ported Hastings .660. With a PG .670,  it put up 220 using HS 3-2-7.

Shooting a Rem 870  21" barrel with a Hastings non-ported .665.  Gun shoots Fed HW 7's the best of all loads.  Shoots the Win HV 6's really well too.  Shot a few Hevi 13 3/2/6's through it and it patterned really well but was concerned about the lead only.  The fed HW 7's are safe to shoot in it for sure.
