This lil dog is coming on strong for being a youngster with little experience. He wasn't really hunted much until this month and with trying to get him out and be back home in time to spend some time with the girls, the hunts have been quite short. Needless to say, I'm jazzed about his progress so far. If he keeps this up, I'll not deer hunt the early season at all next year and just wait until Halloween to get excited about it.

Nothing like watching or hearing a good dog work!!! I've never squirrel hunted with them but spent alot of nights running Coonhounds. I got the most excitement seeing a young dog go from nothing to exceptional and traveling all over competition hunting.

I go to one competition hunt a year. The dog club I belong to holds a cancer hunt in the morning and a state hunt in the evening. The other hunts are too far scattered for me and the time it takes to cover them just takes away from time I'd rather be hanging closer to home. My wife lets me get out a lot. I've got to make a decision about whether I want to competition hunt or hunt in the fall. Gotta make a sacrifice somewhere. I'll actually be missing the hunts this year due to a fundraiser at work but it'll give me another year to get this guy going strong before next year. Hoping to give those cur's a run for their money.  :TooFunny:
