This is the first bird I've killed with my crossbow. I wanted so bad to shoot a turkey in the head with a broadhead and when it all came together you can hear the excitement in my voice. The video is not the best, just starting to learn. In the beginning of the video the sound was way down and you can't hear what I was saying and the camera went out of focus when I made my shot. I never knew how tuff it is to video your own hunt with a crossbow.
This ain't the biggest bird, but it was the most exciting turkey hunting moment for me. I should have waited for him to come in closer, but when I got a clear shot at 27 yrds I took it. Some good luck and a great crossbow helped this happen. The natural blind I made worked well too.
Here's the video and thanks for watching.

That was pretty sweet. That is an accurate head shot at 27 yards is just wild to say the least. Congrats on the bird and great job on the shot.

Great job and video... if you don't mine can you tell us about what kind of crossbow and how it was all setup and the cost of it... look like a really nice crossbow were you using a scope or what?

Haypatch

That's sweet congrats on a hunt and bird you will never forget!

It's the new Tenpoint Carbon Nitro.
Shooting Spynal Tapp arrows made by South Shore Archery Supply and the broadheads are the NAP Crossbow Killzone ( 100 gr. )
I was using the Caldwell Deadshot Fieldpod Max to hold the crossbow and it makes a very steady shot.
You can see a video how I made my setup on my youtube channel  ( TenpointGuy ).
Thanks for the comments.

Call 'em close, It's the most fun you'll ever have doing the right thing.

Congrats on the bird. The excitement that you displayed is the exact reason why I get up at 4am or earlier to chase these beautiful creatures.

Dr Juice

Great job. The capture of you breathing hard as you getting ready to launch brings more realism to it. Thx, I'm pumped.

Very cool video...

I tend to enjoy the private videos far more than the TV shows or commercial videos...  I can certainly identify with the personal videos more.

As a note, you mentioned that the bird got out of focus at the end of the video.  Looks like the automatic focus put the tree branches in front of the bird in focus and had the bird as a background blur (often the automatic focus will want to focus on the closest target, not the one of interest).  With some of the cameras out there, you can lock the target of interest into focus, and the camera will stay focused on that target.
Did I do that?

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.

Thank you for the tip. I will check my camera out to see if I can do that.
Its a cheap Sony HDR-CX 190.
I really appreciate any help with making a better video. I'm a total rookie at it.

I enjoyed the video, and filming is often more difficult than shooting...  You managed both, while turkey hunting.  And made a head shot on a nice bird with a crossbow...
