I roosted this bird last night about 200 yards from my house. He has been coming and going for the past two weeks. I got in there before light and set up a hen and jake decoy on the edge of the field. Right after I set down I noticed I set down right under a hen! Well it started getting light and other birds around were gobbling and he sounded off about 75 yards away. So I tree yelped real soft and another hen right beside him went to calling like crazy. So i just done what she did! He flew down and gobbled and me and the hen continued to call to each other. Finally he gobbled again and I could tell he was right over the hill. Then I heard him Drum and looked and saw that blue head at 40 yards. He went behind a tree and I laid my call down and got ready. He came out in full strut. I let him strut for a minute and he poked his head up at 30 yards and them Longbeard #6's put a wop on him. He flipped over and flopped his wing twice!
11 1/2" beard and 1 1/8" spurs.
