You CAN but the choke might make it difficult to run a brush or thick patch through the barrel.  I usually just throw in a modified choke and do my deep clean and clean the choke separately...

Sorry to be late on my reply but the above is easier on your brushes. You may want to use a 20 gauge brush with your choke tube.

Putting shot from those low brass shells will work to break in your choke.
