870 forcing cone lengths

Is the forcing cone the same length on a 870 super mag and 870 magnum? Is there any benefit to shooting 3" shells from a longer chamber than a standard 3" chamber?

Don't know about the benefits exactly but my sm 870 with 23" barrel likes the 3" loads the best.

I would imagine the cones are the same length. Manufactures don't really mess with forcing cones from model to model.  They really don't need to.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

It's the same with my 870sm 26" bbl. Shoots the 3" loads better in lead and HTL. Not sure about LB's. Never shot 3.5 but I see some awesome patterns in the pattern section with the 3.5" shells.
