I'm starting this thread for everyone who attended the convention this year to talk about it. I'm new to Turkey hunting so this was my first convention. All vendors were awesome. Special shout out to the gooserbat crew, I met Sam and his son, great people and was happy to buy the Bacon diaphram. Also spent a lot of time and the David Holleran table. David's father spent time teaching me to use a pot call then I ran all the calls with all of the strikers. He ended up reccomending the new slate over glass with persimmon and purple heart strikers, great people. David was also super nice and took time to speak with us. Also spent time at Hooks speaking to Neal who was also great. I told him I was considering the Holleran pot call also and he said it was a great call. I bought an executioner 2 and a hootin stick, but will consider hooks pots and gobble sticks in the future. BTW the snake wood gobble sticks are gorgeous. Made a few other small purchases but these three tables really made the experiance great and helped alot. I highly encourage everyone to keep all of these guys in mind for your call needs. Of course had to go polish the debit card off at Bass Pro after. If you have never been to the convention GO! It's an outdoorsman paradise. Just walking around talking to the vendors and looking at all the products is fun even if you aren't spending much.

Yes sir. Slate over glass. I was able to make the softest purrs but still got it louder than ceramic. Others seemed to also be buying it quite a bit.

My first time at a convention, spent most Friday over there. Lot's to take in. Got to meet some folks from this board.  Also got Knight & Hale to sign one of their pot calls for me.. nice treat since they have been in the turkey game so long..

My first experience and I cannot wait to go back.  I have to start by saying Im as green as they come to this type of thing, never been to a calling contest.  I sat all day and enjoyed the calling on Thursday, went to the booths on Friday.  Cannot say enough about the guys at Hooks and Woodhaven, super nice guys. Spent a small fortune on Friday but I wouldnt have it any other way. Wisconsin turkey season is too far away!!

This was my first convention since they found the permanent home of Nashville. Back in '90, I think, we attended in Charleston and Buffalo one year. My wife loved the hotel with it's amenities...what woman wouldn't. We attended a few dinners, went to the Grand Ole Opry, etc. The sports show had just about everything you wanted to see or try. I attended parts of the friction and open calling...those guys are good! I allso attended one seminar...Jeff Budz. He's a very good speaker who supplied good info. I don't think I've ever talked to a more intense turkey hunter than him...he's a killing machine.

Loved the convention. Favorite part was meeting "Cuz" Strickland. Very down to earth guy who really gets what being in the outdoors is really about.

Went for the first time,  Really enjoyed it.  Got to see some of the calling comps. spent a lot of time in the silent auction area playing calls. Met some really nice people. spent to much money..  And almost bought a Dodge Truck
