New here and new to the NWTF Convention.  With it being my first time at the convention, I was curious if anyone had any tips to make sure I make the most out of it? Thank you in advance!

First of all, welcome to OG. Glad you're here and look forward to hearing more from you.

I'd recommend that you visit nwtf.org and take a look at what's available to you there. There are many activities, seminars, calling contests, etc. and of course vendors.

There is a free app that you may download that gives you a complete list of all vendors. Depending upon how much time you'll have, you may want to prioritize the ones you really want to see.

Wear comfortable shoes.

I spend most of my time in our booth but otherwise, I'd just pick a direction and wander around to see what catches my attention. It can be crowded at times, so it's best to just relax enjoy the whole experience.

Anything and everything you might want for hunting, shooting and the outdoors is generally there.

Please come by Booth 1013, All About Shooting, and say hello. We'd be happy to see you.

Those are things that pop into my mind and I'm sure others will have more suggestions for you.

Thanks,
Clark

Thanks for the tips.  I have the app and I am registered so hopefully getting a wristband is a cake walk when I get there.  My general game plan is to just wander around, I have all day Thursday and Saturday to attend so hopefully I have plenty of time.  I plan to attend some of the calling contest, for sure gobbling and owl hooting right away Thursday.  Are there lots of opportunities to do meet and greets or is that pretty limited? Thanks again for your help, ill make sure to swing by 1013!

You're welcome. I think you'll find plenty of opportunities for meets & greets over the time you're there. Most everyone is there.

Thanks,
Clark

I don't believe the Exhibit Hall opens until Friday morning.

Calling comps Thursday and a lot of guys hanging out great day to be there pretty relaxing unless you're calling. Lol!!
Saturday's a crazy day. Use the Nwtf app map out the booths you for sure want to stop at and go from there. Swing in and say hi at the Hooks calls booth 324 and say hi.

Well I sure am glad I asked these questions, I didnt realize it was just calling on Thursday.  Looks like I will be taking work off Friday now as well! In town from Wisconsin and I dont want to take any chances of missing something that I will regret later.   Thanks again for all the help guys!

It is a shame they don't move the convention around. Last time I went it was in Columbus Ohio.  Would love to make it to another one, but I'm not driving 9 hours for it.
Don't gobble at me...

Go on Friday morning you'll find better parking and easier to get around. I've never even gone on Saturday. I'll be there on Friday again this year.

My first show. I took off Friday. Hoping getting to the exhibit show when it opens will be best. Vendors won't be burned out yet and should have best variety of goodies to buy. Also thinking maybe a little slower because many will be working. If your traveling 40 or 24 early morning hours inbound to Nashville back up is bad so allow time if driving during rush hour.

Envy my brothers.at the convention...I am stuck 2 1/2 hours north at Louisville all week working National Farm Machinery Show.

My assumption is that seating for the calling is a first come first serve type of situation.  If this is the case, would you recommend getting their as early as possible to try and lock up a great seat or is this not really all that important? I have never been to a calling competition, even a local one and Im hoping to learn about the process and what goes into it.  So I have to drive basically from downtown Nashville out to Opryland, my game plan was to leave about 7AM.  Sorry for all the questions, Im a newbie and Im just trying to avoid missing out on anything.  Once again, thank you for any help you can offer.
