Hey fellow turkey thumpin addicts ;D It's been a long time since I've been on here. I just bought a new shotgun the other day and looking for some advice. I know that there are a lot of variables in my quest for the right choke but I thought maybe I'd run it by on here to get a little head start with it.

My current Rem 870 with a 26" barrel likes the Winchester Long Beard 3.5" 2oz in 6 shot. That gun is heading out to be worked on and have it patterned for me into a "turkey only" thumper. This new gun is my waterfowl gun but still want it tip over gobblers from time to time. I bought the Beretta A400 with a 26" barrel and I'm up for any choke suggestions. I would like to stick with the 6 shot seeing it's worked the best for me over the years other than Nitro loads.

I've read that JED and Pure Gold chokes are a good choice but that thread was from a while ago. Is there any new info on these chokes or a choke for the A400? I'm thinking of sending out the Beretta to be dipped so I've got time to think about choke choices. Besides, the weather here in NH is not ideal for patterning right now. Thanks in advance :icon_thumright:

Good to see you here and congratulations on some fine gun choices.
You would not go wrong with the JEBs chokes. I've shot all models extensively with a variety of shells and through many different guns/barrel lengths. They are a fine product, well made, from the best materials and their internal geometry is excellent.
I've written a couple of articles, both print and Internet, that evaluate their performance.
Please let me know if I may be of any help.
Thanks,
Clark
