Hevi 7's are bad medicine for turkeys, if you pair it with the right choke.

Think 7's will pattern better than magnum blends?

All things being equal, I know they will.

Looks like Ill have to order me some then. Cant seem to find a store around here that sells them only mag blends, #5 and #6

Hevi - 13 7's will have around 278 bb's per ounce. 2 x 278 = 556

Magblends have equal parts 5,6 and 7's. They will have around 417 pellets per 2oz load.

5's are 159 per ounce
6's are 209 per ounce
7's are 278 per ounce

I've killed plenty with straight 7's, kills better than you would think.

If my numbers are incorrect, please jump in and let me know.

Magblends are a little quicker and an excellent load one of the best factory loads out there. Please don't think I'm bad mouthing them.

DRN,

I'm liking what your throwing down. Ill prob go ahead an order some and see what they pattern looks like in a few days. NWTF convention is right around the corner but with being in grad school I didnt get to hunt much this fall so Im itching to do something

My daughter shot that set up in the mobile threaded version and it's always been good. May check your local Pawn Shops for some shells. Never though about it until I was in ours the other day and they have Hevi 13 3 1/2" 2 1/4 oz 6's for $19 a box. My guns only shoot 3"

I'm hoping to try some 7's this year out of my 835.

Hevi 7's will normally have a better pattern density then the Mag blends because of the higher number of shot in the 7's.  With that being said, in some guns if you constrict the exit diameter too much you can blow the pattern and have holes in it.  With the Mossy 835 and 935's, most chokes in the .670 to .676 will shoot the 7's with Great success.  JWall, what brand of gun are you shooting with the .665?
