Has anyone here had their gun dura coated instead of dipped? I'm looking something to protect my gun and also camo. I have tried Krylon in the past and it didn't hold up so good. If you have one how has it held up and could you post pics?

Holds up well, but it is still paint and will wear off the edges.

If it's the same duracoat that was applied to Brownings years ago I would run the other way.

I have a rifle that I dura coated myself in black. It has held up well except the very end of the barrel where the bullet exits.
I will try to get a pic later.

I did my AK-47 and mags and it's held up real well. It's also pretty simple to do yourself, I found severel videos on how to apply it.

Not sure if that's what came on the SX3 but if it is, it came off the stock real easy.  It MAY not be duracoat on there but for some reason I was thinking it was.... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep...same stuff that's on my Browning BPS that is now a sticky peeling mess...

Buddy of mine duracoated those 870's. It's just paint but lasts pretty well.  It will absolutely come off but it's better than what I had. I've hunted with those guns for the last three years. I've worn more off a brand new dipped Rem 870sm than I have these guns. Not a bad choice.

Only pic I found so far.

What about kolorfused?..a ton better then getting it dipped..I have 2 of my compounds kolorfused...Google Kolorfusing-Colorado..there is a company that does it out there or Ultimate finishers in New York...as for the duracoat, the edges of my Browning Bps 3.5" Nwtf are starting to peel but it's still the best turkey gun put there right now...for me anyway..

Pretty sure Browning dips their camo guns and then sprays on a Dura Touch finish...

Dura Coat looks to be a different type of finish, more like a spray on paint, that cures to a tough finish...

I see mostly good reviews about Dura Coat...

Dura touch and Dura coat are 2 different things I believe

Duracoat dries hard, it's paint, with a hardener in it. Definitely more durable than paint, not as durable as cerakote. Duratouch is the rubbery feeling stuff found on the stocks of winchesters and Brownings. Two totally different products.
