Sadly, I wrapped up my spring season earlier this week. It was an incredible season and I hate that it is already over. Although I did not get to hunt as much as I normally do, I experienced some incredible hunts and was able to kill far more turkeys than I deserve.
SC was tough for me this year. Due to work I was unable to hunt as much as I normally do and it seemed like the weather was unfavorable on almost every day I had available to hunt. There were a few days where the weather was nice and the birds worked great. I was lucky enough to wrap my 5 SC tags around the legs of some really nice birds. I ended up killing my best Eastern ever this season, 1.5" spurs and a paintbrush for a beard.
After I was done in SC, I hopped on a plane and headed West. My buddy and I hunted for about five and a half days and killed a total of 10 long beards. The bird numbers were somewhat lower than years past but the birds worked really well. We had some great hunts, lots of birds gobbling, lots of coyotes chasing turkeys, and every other event you could possibly imagine taking place during a turkey hunt.
Time to unpack all my gear, catch up on work, and try to get a little rest. I can't wait to do it all over again next spring. Congrats to all that had great seasons and good luck to those still hunting.

The Wild West
This last pic pretty much sums up my western adventure, I was able to kill 5 birds out west and missed another one that a coyote chased past me.
