Got this gobbler a few counties over from home this morning.  He gobbled around 150 times starting at 5:45 until I put his lights out at 26 yards at 7:15 AM.  He had a hen trailing him, but still came to my calls.  He weighed 19 pounds, has a 10 inch beard, .75 inch spurs, a husky two year old.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

He was roosted at the edge of a wide open pasture and could see or hear anything close.  It was several owls cutting up in the swamp that got him going, but he kept on from then.
