During the fall in Iowa you can shoot turkeys while upland hunting.  I've seen several birds shot while pheasant hunting.  A few years back I was hunting with a buddy and all three dogs go on point.  After a few seconds up pops a large tom.  I took a step back as it flew off and from my side boom.  My buddy had a tag and he was filling it.  All three dogs participated in the retrieve of the 20lbs bird.
