I did that same decoy last year. Gave it to a buddy of mine and did another.

I really don't know if it helps to customize a decoy or not. But it's a lot of fun adding feathers and paint. And it's neat watching your decoy while hunting. You did a good job. Here's my decoy. I used hot glue to glue the wings on, but had to redo it after the first use because a "wing" started to fall off. I get to use him again Friday when I go with my son.

That looks good ,When we first started hunting turkeys you could not buy good decoys here so we made them out of paper mache  and added all the feathers we could get ..thy looked homily but thy worked ,;o;lol  wish I had picture of them home made decoys now lol Dutch

Wow guys those are cool. Snapper I hope you made a video for YouTube on that lol would like to try that on one.
I rarely ever use a decoy but it would be nice to have one look like that for when I get to use one. Nice job guys!

What are you using for glue?  I plan on doing mine with the feathers from my next bird.

I use loctite all purpose go2 glue. Get it at walmart back in the paint department.
