Kansas public land help
April 07, 2015, 08:07:00 PM
Thinking about heading to Kansas next week for the opening few days. Was planning on staying around Parsons and hunting walk in areas. Was hoping someone from that area might be willing to share some good information on which areas are better than others. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Download the WIHA map / Google earth deal. Look at the WIHAs are pound where you want to go - you can see where your best chances are going to be. Those creek bottoms tend to be pretty ok.

Drive the back roads and glass the fields they have them walk in areas everywhere. We had no problems finding Gobblers that wanted some love.

I hunt public land here probably 90% of the time. I second what was earlier mentioned with downloading the WIHAs on Google Earth. It is a great tool to have to help narrow your scouting areas down.
