After my 12 year old son Noah knocked a longbeard over on the last day of the youth season, the pressure was on for me to keep pace. It didn't take long to even the score. After flydown, this old boy left with hens onto a neighboring piece of property. About 10:15, the hens must have left him as he came calling on the other hen he passed up early. This one met his demise within 100 yards of where I got my registry bird last season. 9.5" beard, 1-5/16" and 1-7/16" spurs, 19 lbs.
Edit...added spur pics. For reference, I'm 6'4" and can easily palm a basketball.

Thank you all for the kind words.
Alloutdoors and Porcupine...For some reason, I didn't get a pic of them on Saturday. I have them in the freezer and I will post a pic when I get home this evening.

Thank you 870. I had to knock him down a notch. There would be no living with him if I let him sit perched alone on that mountain.
Truth be told, I'm fine playing second fiddle to him....just don't tell him i said that!

Well... There's one reason to visit Florida. Nice job!
Did I do that?
