Tips on using a diaphragm call
March 04, 2015, 11:03:04 PM
I picked up turkey hunting 2 yeas ago and every turkey I have killed i used a box or pot call. I have purchased a few different mouth calls and would like to get some tips on how to get the most realistic sounds out of them. What do you do to purr, cut, yelp, kee kee etc...?

It all works in certain circumstances. To be honest it's hard to describe sounds or types of sounds in writing. If this is fairly new to you than get a DVD to guide you, real birds after you can call. Scott Ellis Mouth Call Magic DVD is a pretty decent one. There's others I'm sure but that one is pretty good. Don't expect to be Scott Ellis though. Good luck

I got ya. Man I have sound coming out and many times I think...huh that sounded really good, then other times my friends, wife, and students look at me like i'm making a sound that a dog would make after getting its tail ran over. I guess its just a matter of practice. Thanks for the DVD advice!
