There are alot of very good callmakers out there, that build some great sounding calls. My personal favorites are,Bill Lyman,Paul Platz, Andy Kaiser, Lonnie Sneed,Dustin Jones, and Glenn Marerr. They all build quality, and not quanity.Get a custom call, they are worth the extra money hands down. While you are at,get 2 or 3 to start with. Then get ready, because once it starts, there is no end in sight.

There are, as many said a bunch of good call makers. You're initial post mentioned Halloran. I've never heard a bad call come from that kid. you could never go wrong there.

Lonnie Sneed make a great slate call. As far as crystal goes gotta love Hallorans and Jimmy Schaffer's Mad Hen. Also heard good things about Darrin Dawkins but don't own one (yet).

Lonnie Sneed for slate/glass call
Larry Gresser -Prairie Game calls for copper calls...top rate!
Never use a glass call, or ceramic..can't tell ya there.

If you are wanting a different sound in your vest I highly recommend one of mike yinglings copper pots. It's the first copper pot I've owned and man does that thing talk turkey. Mike is great to deal with as well. Good luck

mike yingling ash pot copper over glass for a new sound that's pure turkey, and lon trice (lonzo's) birdseye maple glass over glass put 7 peckers in the dirt for me last year. lots of other good call makers but these two don't leave the vest. both great guys to deal with
