California requires a plug for ALL shotgun hunting, even deer/pig hunting with slugs during rifle season when it would be perfectly legal to hunt with 5 cartridges in a rifle magazine.

Doesn't make much sense, but it's not too much of a hardship because I've never fired more than one shot per turkey and there's a one per day limit.

Texas does not require a plug, except for Migratory birds.

In NY, there are no restrictions for turkey but waterfowl requires a plug.

Waterfowl only in ms. I don't put but 3 in my gun. Nearly every bird I have killed has been one shot. Only 2 I can think of required a follow up.

No plug where I hunt. I carry my shells in the gun where they are most useful instead of my vest.
