Some years are worse than others for me. No matter how many birds were called to the gun during a spring season, some are just harder to let go of than others. Some years I just feel finished when it is over. Other years, I just don't want to let go. This spring was one of those. I had a great year. My kids had a great year and it still feels like I should be somewhere with a gun on my shoulder.
  I'm depressed, to say the least. I am actually having a difficult time writing about it. It is a addiction and an obsession. A way of life for me.
  Many of you understand completely, many of you never will.

I call it post partum blues...My friends chuckle a little about it. They seem to be over it when it ends but for me it's something that has just gotten into my DNA. It feels so natural being out there interacting with these birds and when it's over it's like a train running out of tracks...I'm still going and the season has suddenly ended...Takes me about 2 months or so to not take that scouting ride on my way home...

Yep, can't wait.  And golf certainly helps pass the time till its time to chase the fall flocks around.
