I couldn't get the big Tom to come out of the woods to my dekes, but three jakes just couldn't resist. Called in from 150 yds and I couldn't pass up the shot. 6" beard so I figure about a 2 year old. The meat was tender. Does anybody recognize the vintage gun I was using. Winchester model 12 pump with a 32" full choke barrel. It was my grandfather's (I'm 62) goose gun appropriately named "Long Tom". One thing checked off my bucket list, first turkey, now it's trophy time.

Very nice!  Love the old school gun with family sentiment!

Thanks for the support. I have learned a lot reading here, but there's nothing like first hand experience learning from your mistakes.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
