dang that one is gonna hurt for a bit. last fall I finally got my first fall gobbler, it was fresh from being a jake with 3/4 inch spurs and a 7 or 8 inch beard, but the spurs were sharp and I grabbed him too soon and it took a small chunk of skin off the palm of my hand. Could have been worse. Hope that one heals up for you quick

I feel your pain. I got spured in the palm in 2009. Still got the scar.

Yes they sure can. You'd think a guy would learn his lesson but I'm ashamed to say I did the same thing again on my last TN bird I got and tore me up again.

Thats why I learned to grab their feet, below the spurs and put the foot on the head!
