Does anybody know about how much shelled corn would be in a 55 gal drum of corn in the shuck. I can buy some for 15 bucks but I don't have a clue how much corn I'll be getting.

Gamblinman

approximately 350 lbs.

wow, I was thinking maybe 100 to 150lbs. I'm not going to shuck it and shell it to find out.

I have a 30 gallon feeder, with a funnel in the bottom, that will hold about 120 to 150 lbs of shelled corn so 350 lbs of shelled corn is about right.  I would think that a 55 gallon barrel would hold about 100 to 150 lbs of shelled corn still on the cob.  At $15 that would be a good price.  We payed $12 a hundred for corn last fall from local farmers.

it is $9-$10 for a 50 lb sack around here. Get you all you can at that price.

It runs about 5 bucks a sack on the cob here(about 1/2 bushel) 15 for a drum full is a really good deal.
