I grew up 5 mins from Enola, pa. And now live in western nc. Not the best game lands right around there and yes way too many hunters. Hunting was an excusable absence there when I grew up. Probably the closest public land is lambs gap, if you go there check out idle road. Or go a little further to pine hill, or another access off rt 850 all 20 mins from Enola. Consider driving about 45 mins north to northern perry or juniata county. The farther north the bigger the mountains, the bigger the public land. I always felt crowded when one gobbled because i knew if I heard it so did the other 5 people around me. Let me know if you need any directions or locations.
