Hey guys, I'm pretty new to turkey hunting. Yesterday the birds where I hunt were absolutely on fire til noon. There was a bad storm last night and today I haven't heard the first gobble. Is it because of the storm or is this just normal behavior? Is it likely that they pick back up this evening or tomorrow? Thanks for any advice

That's turkey hunting expect the unexpected . I'm sure they'll be back at it soon .

What you describe is not that unusual in my experience.

Photoperiodism is the primary driver of breeding, ovulating, and laying eggs, but weather is certainly a secondary factor.  The birds have to react to wx, as everything else in nature does.

After a storm with lots of rain birds tend to fly down later in the morning.

Gobbling turkeys are like biting fish. They will start again, when they feel like it.

They rarely behave the same way 2 days in a row, keep on trying.
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I don't think a gobbler knows what he will be doing from one day to the next.  I'm not sure why we think we should know. ;D
I love golf.  It keeps a lot of people out of the turkey woods.

I 've had em be silent more often for two days in a row than gobbling their heads off. One year I heard nine different birds in one area one morning and started dreaming of limiting out early. To my knowledge those birds never gobbled again. That's why I hate to call someone up and get them all fired up just to hear silence the next day. It happens in turkey hunting.
