I've been fortunate to take a good number of birds with my shotgun, all of them memorable. I decided the last couple of years that I'd try my hand at archery turkey. I upgraded bows and outfitted some arrows with Magnus Bullheads. I had these 100 grain heads shooting awesome out to 20 yards and felt comfortable at that range.

Now I just needed a bird to cooperate.

A buddy and ventured out and setup a ground blind and put out the DSD flock, minus the strutter. A few hours into the hunt we had a lone Tom creep out of the brush and give off a gobble. I hit him with a soft yelp and he came in strutting.

This is where my breathing became a bit heavy and my knees knocked a bit :turkey2:

He walked up to the "leading hen" and began bumping it. He was in full strut when he turned away from me. I stood up and drew. He turned around  and broke strut and that's when I let the arrow fly from 11.5 yards.

Full decapitation!!  What a rush!!!!
