Congrats on your first bird and nothing wrong with taking a Jake...My first bird was a Jake and I have taken a few more Jakes since, mixed in with a some Toms here and there.

Congrats!  Nice bird and an exciting hunt.  As for spreading the wings for a picture, I find that it helps if you have a log or something under the back half of the bird so the front tips down hill and helps extend the wings.
I love golf.  It keeps a lot of people out of the turkey woods.
