Being new here, I thought I'd post a couple pics of some of my recent calls. I started making these early last year after I retired as a hobby. Great way to pass the time and always great to hunt with something you made.
Hope you like them, some Pig Nut Hickory pots, couple of Green Osage pots and a Green Osage grunter.

Thanks for the good comments guys, I guess I just have a knack for using game calls. Pretty much anything I tried over the years came easy. I learned to call Turkeys in the mid 80's, decided to enter a calling contest just to see how good I was, went to Dallas in 1987 entered the State contest, won it, decided to enter the open, finished third, some guy named Dick Kirby won and a guy named Walter Parrot was second. Only time I ever entered a calling contest.
So when I retired it was just natural to try to make a few calls. I really like pot calls, I think they sound great and are very versatile. I haven't tried to do a box call, don't know that I will, I love playing them
But for what you have to go through to make them I think it's cheaper to buy one. My hats off to you guys that make boxes, what an art.
Can't wait for spring season, I had knee replacement surgery early last year and it really limited my spring hunting. Gonna try to make up for it this year.
Thanks again for the kind comments, it's good to be here.

noisy box call that seems to sound like a flock of juvenile hens pecking their way through a wheat field
