I killed this bird Wed morning in the thick fog. Matter of fact it was so thick I couldn't see him at 120yds. If he had not of been ripping the gobbles I would never had know he was in the pasture with me.
My guess is #4 copper plated lead maybe from last year? And no it's not one of my BB's.

And he was a window hanger

If it eats I can catch it, if it bleeds I can kill it.

Nice bird. And I hope that he just got hit with a stray when his buddy got shot. Otherwise that hunter needs practice.
I will be curios to hear if you find anymore pellets in him.

Anyway congrats.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Nice hooks on that gobbler.  :icon_thumright:

I killed one many years ago with a pellet in his leg. Had to be from the previous spring because it was all healed.

I also killed one in Georgia in 2010 that had been shot in the breast with #71/2 or #8 shot. Breast had gangreen and I had to throw it away. That bird came in like a normal gobbler. I never knew he was previously shot.
Tagged out for this spring. Check back with me in the fall.
