Illinois season came to a close today.  It was a hard rough season around my area, either bird numbers were down or they just didn't want to talk once they flew down. On the last day of 4th season I finally got one to cooperate and got to watch him gobble, strut and spit and drum for about 15 minutes before laying the hammer down on him, He came in at 20 lbs, 1" spurs and 10" beard

witn only 2 days left of season i didnt know if I would get my second tag filled or not, but luck would have it when i heard them gobble on roost i knew exactly where they were and was pretty sure of where they would go, ver yshortly after flydown i was taged out and a happy camper, another 20 lb bird, 7/8" spurs, 10" beard.  I would like to thank Clark from allaboutshooting to help me with my new setup it took the birds out great.

Genesis 27:3 - Now then, get your weapons—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Congrats on the good birds.  I filled my two tags in Southern Illinois but saw myself and heard lots of stories about them "just not being right".  I blamed it on the weather.   :D  Heard the S.E. Missouri guys with the same complaints.  Congrats again!
