I'm truly ashamed this guy is our president.  He's not my president.

.....

That about sums up my feelings. He's a pathetic excuse for a human being.

 In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the
University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the
Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always
temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent
form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until
the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous
gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority
always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from
the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a
dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the
beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200
years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."
The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn't hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in
St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning
the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory
Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens
of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low
income tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare..."

Olson believes the  United States  is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of
democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population
already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million
criminal invaders called illegals - and they vote - then we can say
goodbye to the  USA  in fewer than five years.

I got this in an email from a friend. I believe they must disarm us first and they are running into a little trouble in that area.

Even if a republican does get in in 2016 it will take years to correct the mess that has been made the past 5 years. Imagine what the next 3 is going to be.  They can't even agree to disagree agreeably. haha. Very discouraging as a tax paying citizen.

1. Demand "a vote"
2. get said vote
3. realize it's not the vote you wanted
4. blame the system
5. throw a temper tantrum

A perfectly reasonable response from the President of the United States.
Save the Little ones for the Little Ones.

^^^ Very True Bama

My grandma told me that in all the years of living through all the presidents she couldn't recall a single one pointing the finger and throwing a tantrum like Obama.

He accuses the NRA of using dead children to further their cause, then he uses dead children to further his cause (childrens' parents at the announcement)...He says because of special interest groups, the legislation was defeated.He doesn't mention that the NRA is made up of individual citizens (you and me). He doesn't mention Mayors against illegal guns (a special interest group). He mentions the 40% lie (a survey taken in the early 90's before the NICS system was in place and the survey was conducted asking around 200 people their opinion). Then he cites the 90% lie...Maybe 90% of the people who were asked agreed to background checks. I guess you could find 90% of people who agree with your issue if you ask the right 100%!
Here's something a friend sent:

It's a given that the government desires to know who has what regarding guns. Good governments (UK & Australia) and bad (NAZI Germany and the USSR) have used registration records to facilitate confiscation.

Below is the legality of registration in the US. It's interesting that a convicted felon cannot be convicted of failing to register a gun :You can, they can't. Now tell me who registration can be used against and why?

Haynes v. United States (390 U.S. 85)
Haynes v. United States, 390 U.S. 85 (1968), was a United States Supreme Courtdecision interpreting the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution's self-incrimination clause. Haynes extended the Fifth Amendment protections elucidated inMarchetti v. United States, 390 U.S. 39, 57 (1968).[1]

[edit]Background of the case
The National Firearms Act of 1934 required the registration of certain types of firearms. Miles Edward Haynes was a convicted felon who was charged with failing to register a firearm under the Act. Haynes argued that, because he was a convicted felon and thus prohibited from owning a firearm, requiring him to register was essentially requiring him to make an open admission to the government that he was in violation of the law, which was thus a violation of his right not to incriminate himself.
[edit]Majority opinion
In a 7-1 decision, the Court ruled in 1968 in favor of Haynes. Earl Warren dissented in a one sentence opinion and Thurgood Marshall did not participate in the ruling.
As with many other 5th amendment cases, felons and others prohibited from possessing firearms could not be compelled to incriminate themselves through registration.[1][2] TheNational Firearm Act was amended after Haynes to make it apply only to those who could lawfully possess a firearm. This eliminated prosecution of prohibited persons, such as criminals, and cured the self-incrimination problem. In this new form, the new registration provision was upheld. The court held: " To eliminate the defects revealed by Haynes, Congress amended

The above and the fact that blatant violations in places like Chicago and D.C. are not prosecuted paints an entirely different picture than the one this admin. would paint!

Good start would be to deport 20 million illegal aliens from the U.S. that will be future voters if allowed amnesty.
