Love to Shoot a Merriam's

I've been pretty sheltered my turkey hunting career.  I've only hunted Missouri my whole life with the exception of guiding down in southern Ill.  I have had a desire to get out of state and hunt that isn't going away.  And I'd really love to start off with a Meriams.  So...with cost a factor, convenience of picking up an out of state tag, good turkey population, etc......where would you go?  I had always wanted to go up to the black hills area of S. Dakota.  I've never been up that way and I'd love to turkey hunt in a place that is some neat scenery to go along with the bird chasing.

Anyway, I'd love to hear suggestions along with some good reasons to head to a certain area.  If you don't want to broadcast suggestions on the internet, send me a private message.

Thanks,

Dan

I have not hunted them all, but none of these areas are secrets.  They are not listed in any particular order.

SD Black Hills, but you need to order your permit ahead of time.
NE Pine Ridge, buy your tag (up to 3) OTC
WY Black Hills, buy your tag online and you can apply early for an additional tag
Southeast MT (I forget the name of the National Forest), I think you can pick up your tag OTC (maybe even two turkeys for this area)
