So I have talked to some friends of mine that hunt here in SC and everyone says the birds are gobbling pretty good.  On my hunt club we have had a group of people riding 4 wheelers just about every weekend.  Also we have had a couple of guys coon hunting on Friday nights.  I have been up there 3 different times in the morning and have yet to hear a gobble.  I have seen plenty of sign and have even seen two gobblers in the road by themselves. Plus my brother has seen 5 gobblers together without any hens. Do you think its possible these birds are not gobbling because of the activity on the club?????

Shotgun

Yes, 4 wheelers will shut them up as fast as anything

If they are not used to all the commotion it may have a problem.  I know of some National Forests that are small and have tons of horse back riders, atv's, 4x4 you name it but they are used to it and it doesn't effect them one bit.  Hate it for you.

I don't think the activity you spoke of has any negative effect on your birds. A lot can vary from tract to tract, it really depends on the hens and when they're gettin right more than anything else.

Ive had timber being cut within a couple hundred yards of me while I was hunting and it didn't effect the birds and their willingness to come to the gun.

Unless your club partners are calling to the birds I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldnt worry to much about it. I would be if i was hunting and they rode by though. Turkeys dont pay that much attention to it during breeding season unless they run threw the flock and 1 hour later they probally be back. Its not gonna keepem from gobblin though.

Well the atvs might and might not play a roll in them not gobbling but I know for sure its not gonna stop me from going again saturday morning. I know the birds are there its just of matter of time before they heat up.  Far as the atvs once season opens they are not allowed to ride with the exceptions of sunday afternoons. Cant wait til April 1 so i can hunt the wma!!!!!!!!!
