have never seen one but does anyone make a tighter choke than .670 constriction  for a mossberg 835? or is that pushin the limits?

Sumtoy chokes are custom made. Probably knows exact size you need with what shell you are shooting.

For turkey patterns, I would say .670 to .675 is gonna give you optimum patterns.  Most choke manufacturers I am sure have already tried to go tighter to see for themself or to get the feedback from their customers.  That pretty much tells you why .670 to .675 is why the majority of folks like Pure Gold, Indian Creek, or TruGlo make their chokes at these exit diameters(what they call constriction which it isn't).

i was just wodering what a ...say like a .667 choke would do shooting 7's

Rockhound

I have a kicks 660 for mine and with the fcw in lead  it would do 150 in a 10 at 40  with #5s my brothers 935 and red xx mag #5 and the same choke will do the same or close to it

This is what it does!
may i ask what choke you have?

He was shooting a .676 Star Dot.

Hevi-13 3.5 2.25oz #7's

i have two star dots mine will not put up those numbers my pure gold will thats why i was thinkin a 665-668 would be better

Do you have the original Star Dot?

Show me a picture of the chokes or the packages.

My Pure Gold .670 I had would not out shoot my Star Dot at least for 10" numbers consistently.

Here's my Star Dot that shoots so well.  It has done 361, 360, 349, and several in the 320's with the Hevi-13 2.25oz #7's at a tape measured 40yds.

Here' the best it has done.

I have yet to find a choke that will touch it for 10" numbers shot after shot.  20" numbers are typically around the 550 mark.  Now remember there are about 610 to 620 shot in that load.  I don't think your gonna find a tighter choke that will beat those 10" numbers.  More times than not when you go too tight you blow your pattern.  That is probably what would happen if you went tighter at least on this choke and tighter than .670 on other chokes like the TruGlo SSX or Pure Gold .670.

i shot a 650 years ago when i didnt know any better..kicks..and federal lead and the first, true hevi shot 6s and copper plated nitros.  never counted anything.  backed up, shot, yup that'll kill one and went at it.  thats when i thought the tigher the choke the better.  dern wonder i didnt do some damage to my gun..but i did kill a bunch of birds with it
so i know kicks makes em tighter and i think jebs is tighter than 670 too.

Ask William at SumToy what choke diameter shoots the best in the 835?  I know he has said it more than once here.  .670 ot .675 is just about the idea choke diameter for the 835 shooting lead or Hevi-13 turkey loads.

neohiohunter

Yup that was a star dot. Knowing i was gonna shoot hevi-7's I just cut all the guess work and went with a pure gold .670 or the stardot
