Well it is opening day of turkey season here, and my expectations for the season are good. The excitement of when I will be able to go out in the early morning, and listen for the first gobble of the season is almost unbearable. To see the full fan, hear the drumming, and see the side stepping of the dance, fills my dreams. Much like the anticipation and expectations of the upcoming turkey season, our expectations of serving the Lord Jesus, should follow the same routine.

As we read Psalm 5:3 (NIV)

3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
    in the morning I lay my requests before you
    and wait expectantly

The author writes  "you hear" and "wait expectantly."  The Lord "hears" our voices and our request, and the Lord answers. Are we listening intently, much like the crisp mornings, of listening for the gobbles? And when we hear the Lord answers, does our heart smile inside, like it does when we are turkey hunting?

Seriously, does the Lord's answers, bring us as much joy? If not, have we actually "heard" the Lord speak, or are we too busy with something else?

Let us pray,

Heavenly Father, as we call upon Your name, we thank You for being the Lord of lords, and King of kings. Praise be to Your name!!! Bless You Lord!!!! Thank You for all You have done in our lives!!

We ask Father, for Your name to be spoken mightily, and often from our tongues. May we have the expectations, of Your dwelling,  and spirit, upon our lives in all we do. May we draw close to You, hearing the ever slightest whisper of Your voice.

Thank you for the answers we seek, and the will of You in our testaments.

To You be the glory and honor. For it is in Jesus sweet name we ask and claim these things, Amen!!!

God Bless,
David B.

This Tuesday morning I will be meeting with 20 other man for breakfast.We do this every Tuesday. This past week I was asked if I would read the next devotional.I said yes,knowing that God would bring something to me to deliver to these men. Not all are Christians,but all need to hear the word. I would like to read your devotional to them if that's ok.Gods bless my Brother. Billie.
