I have been having trouble using mouth calls with a ghost cut...I can get a good sound but its inconsistent, in a series of yelps ill get a few raspy notes and then a squeaky note will sneak in...so basically I can't control it...I have no problems with v cuts combo cuts batwing cuts etc....does a ghost cut work better with different tongue pressure air pressure mouth position or anything?....do other people use different techniques for different cuts?

Have you tried different brands with the ghost cut. I mainly use my ghost cuts when I kee-kee...

I throw them in the trash and go with something different. They're over rated.

I used to kee on a ghost cut.  I switched over to a combo cut, then I started keeing on a batwing.  Some guys like Jesse Martin and Chad Claycomb can really run a ghost cut for everything, but I can't touch them!

Yargus's final touch is the only one I've used I haven't thrown away..  JMO..  Don't get hung up trying to master every cut made.  Use what makes you "Sound" like a turkey and success will follow..

I found that less air helped me control a ghost cut.

I have the van cise ghost cut from MAD and the headcrusher prima dona...I guess I just had high hopes for the ghost cut thinking it offered something that the others do not but that doesn't seem to be the case for me...I guess its a good point not to worry about being able to use every cut if you can use the others for everything you need

I love a ghost cut, but for me, it has to be a small cut. Some calls have a large area cut away and will squeal out on me when I lean on it. A small ghost cut with a tiny slit on top of the cut is my favorite.

I don't guess I have ever tried one. I like a simple double reed and if I want more rasp and a different sound I use the Hook Executioner 2. I figure use what I know and kill birds with.
