Kids, don't try this at home...

I was home all day today because my son had a fever and couldn't go to daycare. I had the Outdoor Channel on most of the day in the background and caught some of the Drury brothers latest show "King of the Spring". If you haven't seen it, it's based on them each having a team and having a season long competition against each other. Aside from the actual hunting they have "skill challenges" that contribute points to the team total.

It was the skill challenge segment that got my attention. Today they were supposed to have a team member run out to an archery target, retrieve an arrow, and run it back to the shooter who would then shoot. These idiots actually did a twenty yard sprint with an arrow in their hands, and I'm pretty sure the arrows were tipped with broadheads.

I think this may be the new clubhouse leader for dumbest behavior I've seen on a TV hunting show.

As my youngin says "that coulda hurted".
Blessed are the peacemakers for they are the children of God.

When I first started bow hunting I would walk through the woods with a broadhead tipped arrow on the string and ready for action. One day I slipped on a muddy creek bank and fell on top of my bow. The broadhead was a couple inches from my face. I stopped that stupid behavior right then and there.

I tell my kids all the time not to run with pencils. Seeing them run with arrows/broadheads would make me flip out. Hope nobody gets the idea to try that stupid stunt at home........

Saw that episode tonight and said the exact same thing! Thats like the first thing you learn NOT to do when handling archery equipment.

Absolutely, I didn't mean to imply that it was just the broadhead that made it dangerous, the broadhead was just the icing on the "stupidity cake".

As it was, Terry Drury slipped and almost fell with the arrow, and was flailing it all over the place just a couple feet from his brother.

Looked like it was just a rage practice head but even as dull as they are it still could of hurt a lil lol
