Taurus makes a p109 slim 9 mm that would be a good cc gun. They are under 400.

I just purchased the SCCY CPX-1 9mm.  $289.00 out the door. I love it. It's light, no hammer, fit's in my back pocket. 10+1, shoots great. Now I will warn you, if you go on any of the forums, you'll read a bunch of negative talk about these. They are talking about the 1st generation. If you do decide to buy, purchase the 2nd generation. They fixed a bunch of the problems. I have the 2nd generation GPX-1. The GPX-2 has no safety. They build them in Daytona Fl. Lifetime warranty that follows the gun.

Check em out.

I just bought a Ruger LC9.  The only one left at the gunshop near me had a carbon fiber film (similar to the camo film on turkey guns) on the polymer part of the gun.  It holds 7 rounds in the magazine and fits easily into a pants pocket.  I'm planning on picking up the Recluse front pocket holster for it.  This holster was recommended in the Gunblast review on the gun.
Although this gun does have an external safety, it has a long trigger pull.  The Recluse holster has a patented trigger guard that makes it next to impossible to have an accidental discharge while carrying.

I paid $369 for my LC9 plus tax.

I haven't shot a LC9, but have shot the LCP(.380). Nice little gun, fits in your pocket very easy. The thing I didn't like about it is the trigger reset ....meaning after the shot when the trigger resets for the next shot...is very strong. I ran one magizne through it and was done. By the 3rd round my finger was hurting. I wouldn't enjoy shooting this gun, so I wouldn't become proficient with it. If I'm not proficient with it, I wouldn't feel comfortable carrying it.
In my search for a CC gun, I found several reviews about the same issue with several of the other small pocket guns that have the long, very heavy trigger pull. Just something else to consider in your search.
