Does anyone know how to get rid of "Live Security Platinum" ?

You need to download a program called rkill ( by running this program is disables platinum security and enables other scanning utilities to find and remove the spyware )  then download and install malwarebytes which is a anti spy/malware program.
Depending on the program ( there are many varieties ) this might have to be done within "safe mode" also you might have to download the 2 programs I listed above from another pc due to platinum not allowing you to do so. They are free and what I use to clean off pc's at work and on the side, it's an aggravating prog.

It wouldn't let me download it (rkill), I already have malwarebytes downloaded.  Safe mode and downloading from another pc is beyond my skill level.    Can't I just scratch in the leaves or something?  I'll probably have to take it somewhere, or just shoot it!

Im not familiar with that virus but if malewarebytes wont work you try doing a system restore.

Power off computer
when computer starts booting up keep pressing F8
a black screen should come up with different options
Choose to boot in safe mood with networking
Once it boots in safe mood choose to do a system restore
Then pick a date far enough back to where you didnt have any problems
This will work unless the virus you have disables this option.

Ronnie that's why you have to download from somewhere else (pc) and install in safe mode. It's annoying as hell bubba.

If you have the disc for your computer (WIndows and utilities/drivers) it may be eaiser to just wipe windows out completely and then reload it. What kind of computer do you have? You will lose everthing extra you have downloaded to your computer like pics and other downloads.

I got into safe mode and ran malwarebytes.  It found two issues and I eliminated them, but when I went back to regular mode Live Security Platinum was still there.   It wouldn't let me do a restore either.  Thanks for the suggestions though.   Oh well, I guess it will just have to annoy someone else Monday.

It's a Dell Latitude D620.  At least it's my work laptop.
